EUR/USD onslaught resumes, falls sharply to new 4-year low of 1.2169; set to test 10-year moving average of 1.2045, says ANZ Bank Senior Dealer Alex Sinton. Adds EUR finds some support at 1.2173, a 50% retracement of move up from 0.8308 1.6038, but pause may be short-lived; believes 1.2045 achievable target in Asian session today. News Germany has banned short selling by major institutions of key securities. "When they do that you ask two questions -- where is the pressure going to play out and are they banning it because of volatility as they state or is there something else that is yet to come out?" Adds his suspicion is toward the latter.
