Franklin Roosevelt: Created Social Security and led the country out of the Great Depression.
Harry Truman: Developed the Marshall Plan and helped begin NATO.
John Kennedy: Peacefully resolved the Cuban Missle Crisis and created America's space program and the Peace Corps.
Lyndon Johnson: Passed the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Great Society programs.
Jimmy Carter: Negotiated an historic peace accord between Egypt and Israel and passed new environmental protections, including the Superfund program.
Bill Clinton: Brought and sustained fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets, and big surpluses in the federal government.
And the Bush administration? Bush and his allies have started an all-out assault on America's working families, rolling back the clock on environmental protections, gutting Social Security, protecting corporate interests over our families, dismantling our freedom to choose and our civil liberties, and creating fiscally irresponsible budgets that will benefit the wealthiest while leaving the debt for our children and grandchildren to pay.
